Good Faith Estimate

At our practice, we believe in transparency regarding your healthcare costs. That's why we want you to understand your right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for medical care, including therapy services.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

A Good Faith Estimate is a document that outlines the expected total cost of your medical care. Under federal law, healthcare providers must provide this estimate to uninsured individuals or choose not to use insurance. This initiative is designed to help you make informed decisions about your treatment by clarifying what you may owe.

What’s Included in a Good Faith Estimate?

Your Good Faith Estimate may cover several different costs related to your care, including:

*Therapeutic Services: The fees for therapy sessions.

*Related Costs: Additional medical tests, evaluations, or specialist referral fees.

*Equipment: Charges for any therapeutic equipment or tools you may need.

Why Should You Care About Good Faith Estimates?

1. Financial Clarity: GFEs help you better understand your potential expenses, assisting you in budgeting for your therapy.

2. Empowerment: Having upfront cost information empowers you to make informed decisions and seek estimates from different providers if desired.

3. Bill Disputes: If you receive a bill that exceeds your GFE by $400 or more, you have the right to dispute it, ensuring you aren’t overcharged for your services.

You can receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. You can ask your healthcare provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill of at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
